How is the Percent Chance Of Passing Calculated?

What Is the "Percent Chance of Passing"?

The Percent Chance of Passing is a helpful metric designed to give learners an idea of how likely they are to pass their Functional Skills exam, based on their current performance in the Pass Functional Skills courses.

We’ve analysed data from thousands of learners who have used our platform and completed exams. Using this data, we calculated the pass rates for learners at each stage of their course progress.

For example:

Learners studying Functional Skills Maths Level 2 who reach a Current Level of 2.5 have, on average, a 94% chance of passing their final exam.

How It Works

  • Your Current Level is updated automatically as you progress through the course and complete tasks.
  • As your level increases, so does your likelihood of passing, based on trends observed in real learner outcomes.
  • This percentage gives you a realistic and data-driven estimate of your readiness for the exam.

Why It’s Useful

  • It helps you track your progress in a meaningful way.
  • It gives you the confidence to book your exam when your pass probability is high.
  • It identifies when you may need more practice or revision before sitting the real test.
