Tracking Time Taken

Every attempt that a student can make now has the time taken tracked to facilitate the assessment of effort, identify students who may require intervention, ensure compliance with funding requirements, and more.

This applies to the following attempt types:

  • Initial Assessments (IAs)
  • Subject Knowledge Assessments (SKAs)
  • Revisions
  • Practice Questions
  • Topic Tests
  • Mock Exams (Practice and exam modes)

Partial attempts are also tracked and will contribute to the student’s total time spent on the course.

Any time spent on the course that is not associated with one of the attempts mentioned above is not tracked. This includes time spent navigating between attempts, inactive time on the dashboard, or any other unmonitored activities.

This applies as of September 9, 2024. Any attempts made before this date will not have an accurate time-tracking value, except for mock exams in Exam mode and Initial Assessments (IAs). Other attempts will have a tooltip explaining why the time taken value is absent.

Time taken is viewable in numerous locations across both the student and provider platforms. It appears on individual attempts, in tables containing multiple results, and is summarized in the overview and time analysis reports, among other areas.
